Purdue will look for a big jump out of the 6-foot-3 guard in his junior season in West Lafayette, and Harris will look to finally crack the starting lineup.

Impact Purdue had no problem piling on the points against a lowly Maryland squad, and everyone got in on the action -- even the seldom utilized Harris, who was averaging just 4.7 points and 1.7 rebounds entering Sunday's contest. His 20 minutes were the most he played since a Dec. 29 buy game win over Kent State, which tracks given the blowout nature of the game. This was a good outing for the sophomore guard, but it appears to be an outlier this season.

Impact Harris was hardly involved in Purdue's win, putting up just two shots. The sophomore is providing solid minutes off the bench for the Boilermakers this season, but don't expect a big-time outing from him any time soon. He could also stand to improve his efficiency, as he's shooting 37.8 percent from the field.

He also got involved defensively with three steals. Harris can provide a spark off the bench, something Purdue will certainly need at times during Big Ten play.

He's been efficient and well-rounded in that span, hitting 9-of-13 shots from the floor with eight total rebounds, four assists and four steals. Purdue hasn't exactly faced a murderers' row of opponents recently, but Harris is proving that he can be a valuable commodity.

The 6-foot-3 freshman has averaged 3.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists on 16.2 minutes per game this season, appearing in all 22 games for Purdue. Harris is currently posting a 37.7/27.3/90.5 shooting line this season, which he will look to improve as he navigates his first season at the collegiate level.

He only shot 33 percent from the floor, however, which could be part of the reason head coach Matt Painter wants to experiment with him coming off the bench.

Impact Harris seems to be in line for some legit minutes. The true freshman was an extremely talented blue-chip recruit, so that's rather unsurprising. However, it would come as a major surprise if he started over either Braden Smith of Fletcher Loyer at either of the guard spots.
