Six steals offsets cold shooting Nelson had nine points (3-11 FG, 1-2 3 Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds, two assists and six steals Saturday against Coppin State.
Impact This game was a real fantasy gold mine for the Colonials' starters, with three double-doubles from the front court, a near triple-double from backcourt mate James Bishop, and this early season-high in steals from Nelson. He's previously shot well in two prior games, and should bounce back in the scoring column next time out, currently scheduled for Monday at Towson.

Flirts with triple-double Wednesday Bishop finished with 20 points (7-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-6 FT), nine assists, eight rebounds and a steal Saturday against Coppin State.
Impact The LSU transfer is breaking out in a big way through three games. He's topped 20 points in every outing, while averaging 8.3 assists. The distribution may not maintain at this high of a level, but he's well worth claiming in Tier 2 formats where he looks capable of carrying teams in two categories.

Posts double-double against Coppin St. Moyer had a season-high 19 points (8-10 FG, 3-3 FT) and 11 rebounds Saturday against Coppin State.
Impact Moyer has increased his scoring in each of his first three outings, peaking here. He's also had double-digit boards in two of three. Moyer previously played at Syracuse and Vanderbilt, and while he didn't find success there, he qualifies somewhat as a big fish in a small pond. Keep an eye on his usage moving forward. If he can find consistency in the scoring column, there could be something here.

First double-double of season Battle had 14 points (4-10 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block Saturday against Coppin State.
Impact Battle appears to be emerging for the Colonials. The sophomore wasn't awful last year, averaging 11.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg, but he's been impressive through three games in 2020-21, putting up 15.0 ppg and 9.3 rpg. The schedule picks up some after the next week, with South Carolina and Dayton looming, but Battle is making a case to be useful in Tier 2 formats, and there may be room for more growth as he's hitting just 22 percent of his 3-pointers in the early going after a 37 percent clip a year ago.

Double-double against Coppin St. Paar finished with 15 points (5-9 FG, 5-6 FT), 16 rebounds and an assist Saturday against Coppin State.
Impact Paar was one of three Colonials to post double-doubles, as they were able to throw their size around against the Eagles. He entered with six points and 11 boards total in his first two games after averaging 5.3 ppg and 4.9 apg a season ago. While he's starting and his minutes are up as a sophomore, a repeat of this breakout seems unlikely in the short term.

Impact Dean transferred to George Washington after playing in just 11 games his freshman season with Southern Miss. It's unclear if hasn't received a waiver for immediate eligibility, or if the 6-10 forward still hasn't quite cracked the rotation. Regardless, his last game occurred Dec. 21 of 2019, so he should be a candidate to be eligible at semester. According to the team website, GW will next take the court Dec. 14 against South Carolina, barring the addition of further non-conference opponents.

Impact Jack led the team in minutes last year and averaged 11.7 points per game. He's an elite option from three-point range in the A-10, so it's unclear why he's not in the starting lineup. He may start again down the road, but Vandy transfer Matthew Moyer seems to have taken his spot in the starting lineup at this point.

Impact Bishop was granted a waiver from the NCAA earlier in November that made him immediately eligible for the 2020-21 season. He'll start in the team's season opener along with Jameer Nelson, while Amir Harris will come off the bench against the Midshipmen. Bishop came solely off the bench for LSU last year, averaging 3.1 points and 0.6 assists over 8.6 minutes per game prior to transferring.
