ImpactThe Cal Poly transfer was deemed eligible for the 2020-21 season after the NCAA voted on a blanket waiver for all transfers, and Ballard proceeded to start the next five games for the Bulldogs. He then came off the bench for the entirety of two series against San Jose State and Nevada before returning to the starting five in place of Deon Stroud (undisclosed) on Wednesday. The scoring has been largely inconsistent, however, as Ballard is putting up 5.0 points in 20.1 minutes for the 5-6 Bulldogs.

Surprise DNP against BroncosStroud did not take the court Wednesday against Boise State.
ImpactNo reason was given for Stroud's sudden absence after the sophomore started the last two games for the Bulldogs. He put up a season-high 22 points Jan. 10 against San Jose State to earn the spot, and hadn't necessarily disappointed in the two-game set with Nevada. On Sunday, Stroud put up 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting to go along with six rebounds. In any case, Stroud should be considered questionable for Friday's rematch against the Broncos. It was Junior Ballard who took his spot in the starting five in Wednesday's matchup.

Returns from Achilles injuryAkot (Achilles) had two points (1-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds and two assists across 15 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's 73-51 victory over Fresno State.
ImpactAkot was back from a three-game absence, but did not return to the starting lineup after starting the seven games leading up to his injury. The Boise State frontcourt played well in this contest, with Abu Kigab collecting a double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) and Mladen Armus having a solid showing (nine points, eight rebounds) as well. Still, it seems probably the Arizona transfer will see his usage expand as soon as he's ready to take on more minutes.
