Menace on the glass Kepnang fouled out of Tuesday's 99-93 2OT win over Southern University after recording six points (3-6 FG), 12 rebounds, one assist, six blocks and three steals across 32 minutes.
Impact Kepnang scored just six points on six shots, but he was a monster on the glass with a dozen rebounds and six blocks. His defensive presence was enormous in helping the Huskies avoid what would've been a disastrous upset. Kepnang hasn't been a big scorer this season, but he's done a lot of the dirty work for Washington.

Scores 12 in 13 Kepnang (knee) logged 12 points (6-7 FG), three blocks and two rebounds across 13 minutes during Washington's exhibition game Monday against Western Oregon.
Impact Even though Kepnang did not play much during Washington's exhibition game, his 13 minutes in it were somehow enough for him to easily log double-digit points. Ideally for him, his 2024-25 season is finally the campaign in which he plays a full year for UW. Kepnang's last two seasons with Washington saw him play for a combined total of only 15 games. As a brief starter of UW's 2023-24 team, he had some volume, averaging 10.3 points to go with 7.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.

Begins non-contact work Kepnang (knee) has begun non-contact work, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact Pretty much seven months have passed since it was announced that Kepnang would sit out the remainder of his 2023-24 season. The senior beginning non-contact work is welcome news but definitely does not assure his availability for Washington's next game. Ideally for him, he makes significant progress in his recovery before Oct. 29, during which the Huskies are scheduled for an exhibition matchup against Western Oregon.

Impact Kepnang underwent a surgery before this season to repair his right knee, but tweaked it again in December after playing 10 games and hasn't played since. The senior center will likely not return for a while, though Washington could definitely use him considering they started 7-3 with him playing and have gone 5-7 since with him on the bench.
