Tallies season high off bench
Jackson totaled 17 points (4-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one block over 27 minutes during Wednesday's 81-76 win over Tennessee.
Impact
Jackson put together his most impactful performance of the young season, outpacing his previous season high in scoring by 11 points. The reserve guard played 27 minutes off the bench after seeing just 29 minutes of action total across his previous three contests combined, thanks in part to his improved offensive production. Jackson missed all of last season due to a knee injury but prior to that started half of the 34 games in which he played in 2023. He's seen his time on the floor and production dip thus far this season, though a bigger role could open for him should he build upon Wednesday's offensive output.

Four points in first start
Jackson amassed four points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 20 minutes during Tuesday's 77-46 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Chri...
Impact
Jackson was called upon for his first start of the season with star freshman Darryn Peterson sidelined by a hamstring injury, and it led to a season-best minutes total and modest contributions across the board. The sophomore guard's outlook improves when Peterson is sidelined, but so far, the scoring hasn't followed, as he averaging just 3.3 ppg through three contests (compared to a 4.3 ppg average in 2023-24). Still, the former four-star recruit is making solid progress after missing the entire 2024-25 season due to a knee injury.

Fully cleared
Jackson has been fully cleared for basketball activity Monday, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact
Jackson has officially been cleared for full activity after appearing close to 100 percent just over a month ago. The 6-foot-3 guard opened the season as a starter before transitioning to a bench role, where he averaged 4.3 points, 1.7 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game.

Currently 100 percent
Jackson (knee) is 100 percent, according to Michael Swain of 247Sports.com.
Impact
One year ago, Jackson suffered a knee injury that caused him to sit out Kansas' 2024-25 season. Kansas' head coach Bill Self recently announced that the redshirt sophomore is 100 percent, which means he is available for future games. So as of June, his main objective is to re-establish himself in the Jayhawks' primary backcourt, whose competition includes Atlantic 10 transfers in Melvin Council and Jayden Dawson.

Adds four steals off bench
Jackson notched one point (1-2 FT), one assist and four steals across 21 minutes during Saturday's 64-61 victory over Baylor.
Impact
For the second time in four games, Jackson earned 20-plus minutes as he helped to fill minutes vacated due to the absence of Kevin McCullar. Unlike McCullar's previous absence, Jackson did not earn the start--that honor belonged to Nicolas Timberlake--but Jackson did provide a quality defensive effort with four steals. Jackson had started the first 15 games but has seen his role diminish since losing the starting job to talented freshman Johnny Furphy, seeing single-digits in playing time four times in the nine games since Furphy entered the starting lineup.

Returns to bench
Jackson will play from the bench with Kevin McCullar (knee) returning to the starting five Saturday against Houston, Jordan Guskey of The Topeka Capital-Journal reports.
Impact
Jackson started the first 15 games of the season for Kansas, but has seen his role drop off lately with an exception to his start Tuesday over Kevin McCullar. Because of senior forward Kevin McCullar returning Saturday, Jackson should expect to see a continuation of this smaller role against the tough Cougars.

New season best
Jackson ended Saturday's 86-67 victory over Wichita State with 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes.
Impact
It was a new season-best scoring total for Jackson, but the four-star freshman continues to play a secondary role in the offense to the likes of Hunter Dickinson and Kevin McCullar. Expect more of the same heading into Big 12 play.

Scoreless night
Jackson closed Tuesday's 73-59 loss to Marquette with zero points (0-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound, three assists and one steal over 21 minutes.
Impact
On a night that Kansas needed a third offensive option, Jackson put up a bagel on four shots. The freshman has now started all five games for the Jayhawks but contributed little in his season-low 21 minutes of opportunity.

Records five assists
Jackson logged eight points (3-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and one rebound across his 21 minutes during the Jayhawks' 99-56 win Monday against North Carolina Central.
Impact
Jackson logged his Kansas debut Monday. Despite playing limited minutes, the combo guard showed how well he could pass by recording five assists without multiple turnovers. Jackson's playmaking ability should not be surprising to fantasy managers though, considering he averaged 6.0 assists during his last season of high school, one of multiple reasons why Kansas recruited him in the first place.

Will start first college game
Jackson is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against North Carolina Central, Michael Swain of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact
Jackson is a Top 25 recruit who has shown a lot of good things during summer and fall practices. Ne will get the start over Nick Timberlake, who many thought would slot right in as the starting shooting guard coming in from Towson. Jackson gives Kansas a real second ball handler on the court to take some pressure off Dajuan Harris.

Gets start in exhibition game
Jackson started and had four points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two assists, and one rebound in Sunday's exhibition loss to Illinois.
Impact
Jackson is a Top 25 recruit and has continued to get better over the summer foreign tour and in fall practices. It was thought that Towson transfer Nicolas Timberlake would have the inside track to start at shooting guard to begin the season, but Jackson's explosiveness and ball-handling could give the freshman the upper hand. Jackson didn't have his best performance in the exhibition game, but he will be a big part of the rotation this season for Kansas as he continues to get more comfortable with the college game.
