Named Most Improved in ACC Hurt was named the 2020-21 ACC Most Improved Player on Monday.
Impact While Hurt started his Duke career with a five-star pedigree, his freshman season saw averages of 9.7 points and 3.8 rebounds. The Blue Devils were much more reliant on his services in 2020-21, as those marks jumped up to 18.7 ppg and 6.2 rpg, with the 6-9 forward also shooting an impressive 43.7 percent from beyond the arc. That was enough to earn him first-team all-ACC honors as well. Despite those efforts, Duke remains on the bubble with respect to the NCAA Tournament, and the quest to secure an at-large bid continues Tuesday against Boston College. Hurt should continue to be a focal point, especially in the absence of NBA lottery pick Jalen Johnson for the remainder of the year.
