Solid in Tuesday's win Mitchell closed Tuesday's 84-70 victory over Butler with six points (3-5 FG), seven rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 33 minutes.

Impact Mitchell made just his third start of the season Tuesday and his first since Nov. 8, replacing Joson Sanon in the starting five. He did not put up an elite performance in his return to the starting lineup, but he put together a very solid outing to help lead his team to a road victory. He recorded at least five points, rebounds and assists for just the second time this season and added one steal and one block on the defensive end. It's unclear if he will continue to start for the Red Storm, but he certainly made a case for himself on Tuesday.

Double-double in Thursday's win Mitchell produced 10 points (4-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and four steals over 21 minutes during Thursday's 97-49 victory over Bucknell.

Impact Mitchell came off the bench in his second straight game Thursday but was still able to put up a productive performance. He recorded his first double-double of the season with a season-high 11 rebounds, five of which came on the offensive glass. He also recorded four steals and three blocks on the defensive end, his second straight game with three or more in both categories. Whether he's in the starting five or not, Mitchell has proven to be a very important part of the Red Storm's rotation and that should continue as the season progresses.

Impact With so much talk in the offseason about the front court duo of Bryce Hopkins and Zuby Ejiofor, Mitchell was an overlooked aspect of the Red Storm's starting five. That was not the case in Monday's opener as he led the team in scoring (18), rebounding (seven) and steals (four). It was an excellent start to his St. John's career after productive stints at Texas and Cincinnati, and with opposing coaches set to be focused on Hopkins and Ejiofor, Mitchell could be in for a very productive season.
