Expected to be available Saturday
Peterson (ankle) is expected to be available for Saturday's game against BYU, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact
Rothstein's update brings welcome news out of Kansas, as it looks like the KU superstar will not sit out multiple games due to his ankle injury, in contrast to previous lower-body problems that cost him nearly a month's worth of matchups. Not only is Kansas competing against a Peterson-level prospect in A.J. Dybantsa, but the Jayhawks face another rising team in the Big 12 Conference with BYU. But in Peterson's last eight games, not only did Kansas go a solid 6-2, he also impressed with 21.6 points and 2.9 three-pointers made per game on 47.2/40.4/82.9 shooting splits. At worst, Peterson is expected to be probable when Kansas' availability report is updated Friday.

Out against K-State
Peterson (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Kansas State, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Peterson will miss yet another game with a lingering ankle issue after a string of six healthy games for the Jayhawks. The 6-foot-6 freshman has been a monster when active this season for KU, averaging 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, one steal and 0.7 blocks on 27.2 minutes per game, but he has been limited to just 10 appearances on the year. Peterson's next chance to suit up will come against BYU next Saturday, but he will be sorely missed in a rivalry showdown with the Wildcats.

Questionable vs. Kansas St.
Peterson (ankle) is listed questionable ahead of Saturday's game against Kansas State.
Impact
Peterson has battled injuries throughout the season, which have caused him to miss several matchups. Head coach Bill Self indicated Friday that the freshman guard was limited in practice and his availability will be determined closer to tipoff, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports. Should he miss this contest, his next chance to suit up will be against BYU on Jan. 31.

Questionable Saturday
Head coach Bill Self revealed that Peterson (ankle) is currently dealing with an ankle sprain and is questionable for Saturday's contest against Kansas State, per Michael Swain of...
Impact
Peterson has struggled with injury throughout the season and appears to be dealing with yet another issue. Though Self identified the issue as an ankle sprain, his questionable availability for Saturday's matchup indicates that the issue may not be too serious. If he is unable to suit up agaisnt K State, he'll get another week to get himself right before a big-time matchup against fellow freshman A.J. Dybantsa and BYU.

Efficient offensive performance
Peterson ended with 26 points (11-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, three assists and one steal across 23 minutes during Friday's 80-62 victory over Baylor.
Impact
Peterson put together the most efficient offensive performance of his young career, tallying 26 points while shooting an impressive 11-for-13 (84.6-percent) from the floor. The freshman wing missed nine of the final 11 non-conference games with a quadriceps injury but has shown why he's likely to be one of the top players taken in next year's NBA draft in the five conference games since his return to the lineup, averaging 24.6 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 48.8-percent from the floor and 39.5-percent from beyond the arc.
