Out for immediate future Kansas coach Bill Self said Saturday that Peterson (hamstring) will be out for the "immediate future," Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Peterson has missed back-to-back games with hamstring soreness, and based on Self's comments, he'll miss at least Tuesday's game against Duke. After the Duke game, Kansas won't play until Nov. 24 against Notre Dame, which is the first of a back-to-back set. A Nov. 25 matchup with Syracuse makes up the other half. The 6-foot-6 freshman averaged 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals across 25.5 minutes during his two appearances of the 2025-26 season. Elmarko Jackson, Bryson Tiller and Jayden Dawson should see more action for the duration of Peterson's absence.

Out vs. Princeton Peterson (hamstring) is out for Saturday's game against Princeton, according to Michael Swain of 247Sports.

Impact Peterson's sore hamstring will cause another DNP, his second since he did not play Tuesday against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Though the Kansas team did not need him then, and likely does not require his services against another mid-major at home, Peterson can not improve his stock against one of Kansas' easier opponents this season. KU's head coach Bill Self said that he does not expect the Peterson injury to be a big deal, meaning he could be available when the Jayhawks and Duke (featuring another top prospect in Cameron Boozer) clash at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. In his absence against Corpus Christi, Kansas' starting lineup added Elmarko Jackson, who logged a season-high 20 minutes.

Impact Peterson's absence from Tuesday's game stems from a hamstring injury that has been plaguing the star freshman since before the start of the season. The 6-foot-6 Jayhawk first suffered the injury during an offseason scrimmage against Louisville, that prompted his absence from a later scrimmage against Fort Hays State. According to head coach Bill Self, Peterson felt the issue "coming on" during KU's season opener against UW-Green Bay, but he was able to play without limitations against UNC. Peterson has reportedly been absent from practice for the last two days, and his status will be worth keeping an eye on ahead of Friday's game against Princeton.
