GAME LOG

Solid recovery pace Harris (ankle) is ahead of Tyrese Hunter (foot) in terms of injury recovery, according to Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal.
Impact Currently, Memphis' team has two rotation players on the shelf, both point guards in Harris and Hunter. If the team's head coach Penny Hardaway is to be believed, Harris is ahead of Hunter in terms of progress. This means there is a better chance Harris returns for Memphis' first-round game of the 2025 NCAA Tournament, though both are neither ruled available nor out yet. There is also a chance Harris is available while Hunter is not, meaning the Tigers likely lean on the former at least a little more at point guard going into a matchup with Colorado State.

Out for AAC Championship Harris (ankle) will not appear in Sunday's AAC Championship game, Jonah Dylan of the Commercial Appeal reports.
Impact Harris will remain sidelined as the Tigers face off against the winner of today's matchup between UNT and UAB in the AAC Title game. The 6-foot senior has been inactive since March 4, as a result of the injury. Harris, who is averaging 2.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals on 11.6 minutes per game, will look to rest up ahead of next week's NCAA Tournament.
MARCH 15, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Doubtful for AAC Tournament Harris (ankle) is doubtful for the 2025 American Athletic Conference Tournament, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact Memphis will log between one and three games during the 2025 American Athletic Conference Tournament. The first (and possibly only) of Memphis' three games is scheduled for Friday against either South Florida or Wichita State. Rothstein's statement indicates Harris must depend on Memphis' team to keep his collegiate career alive, though him out the coming weekday is not yet assured.
MARCH 10, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Likely out extended time Harris (ankle) is likely to miss some extended time, Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Impact Memphis' head coach Penny Hardaway said that he didn't have an update on the guard's status, but offered that "Right now, we don't know how long he's going to be out. It doesn't seem like it's going to be a day or two." Harris only played one minute against UTSA in the Tigers' last game.
MARCH 5, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Won't return Tuesday Harris won't return to Tuesday's game against Texas-San Antonio due to ankle and foot injuries, Jason Munz of The Memphis News reports.
Impact Harris won't return to Tuesday's game, and his status for the season finale against South Florida is uncertain. He's averaging just 12.3 minutes per game this season, so he's not going to have a lot of fantasy upside.
MARCH 4, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Back to bench Thursday Harris is not starting Thursday's game at USF, the team announced.
Impact Harris made his first start of the season in Sunday's win over Temple and played well, but he will return to the bench for Thursday's contest with Tyrese Hunter back healthy. Harris has not seen huge minutes when Hunter is available, so he is unlikely to see a ton of playing time.
FEBRUARY 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Starting for Hunter Harris will get the start for Tyrese Hunter on Sunday, Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Impact Harris will get his first start of the season in place of Hunter. It's unclear why the latter is out against Temple, but he's likely dealing with some sort of ailment as he's the heart and soul of the Tigers. Harris, meanwhile, averages 2.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 11.3 minutes this season.
FEBRUARY 9, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Logs six minutes Harris (Coach's decision) missed his only shot attempt while tallying two assists, a rebound and a steal in six minutes during Thursday's win over Tulane.
Impact Harris returned after a one-game absence but saw under 10 minutes for the fourth time in seven appearances this season. The Virginia transfer has not quite been able to grasp a consistent role with the Tigers this year.
JANUARY 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Sits out via coach's decision Harris (coach's decision) didn't play in Memphis' tilt with UAB on Sunday, Parth Upadhyaya of DailyMemphian.com reports.
Impact It's unclear why exactly Tigers' head coach Penny Hardaway elected to hold Harris out of the game, but his absence has now been confirmed to be a coach's decision and not anything injury related. It's unclear at the moment when the senior, who averages 1.7 points and 1.3 rebounds, will return.
JANUARY 27, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Available against East Carolina Harris (foot) is available for Memphis' game Saturday against East Carolina, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact Fortunately for Harris, he will not have to sit out multiple games because of the ankle injury that caused his DNP during Memphis' matchup Sunday against North Texas. For the 2024-25 Tigers, he has logged one point, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 15 minutes. However, it is worth noting Harris only recently made his Memphis debut and is expected to be a regular part of the Tigers' rotation.
JANUARY 11, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Practices Wednesday Harris (ankle) was able to return to practice Wednesday, Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Impact Head coach Penny Hardaway is hopeful that Harris, who sat out against UNT on Sunday with a foot injury, will be able to return to action against ECU on Saturday. The 6-foot senior transfer from Virginia has seen the court in two games this season, averaging 7.5 minutes per outing.
JANUARY 8, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Suffers foot injury Harris (foot) did not play in Sunday's 68-64 win over North Texas due to a foot injury, per Parth Upadhyaya of DailyMemphian.com.
Impact Harris was held out of Sunday's contest following his first two games of the season against Ole Miss and Florida Atlantic. The senior guard joined the Tigers during the season after transferring from Virginia following the retirement of head coach Tony Bennett. The details and severity of Harris' foot injury are thus far unknown, but he can be looked at as questionable for Saturday's contest against East Carolina.
JANUARY 5, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Makes debut with Tigers Harris (transfer portal) signed with Memphis and had one point (0-1 FG, 1-2 FT) and one rebound in seven minutes during Saturday's win against Mississippi.
Impact The senior guard entered the transfer portal in October after the surprise retirement of former Virginia coach Tony Bennett, and he's immediately eligible to play for his new team. Harris played in 24 games for the Cavaliers last season and averaged 2.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 13.8 minutes.
DECEMBER 29, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
In transfer portal Harris is in the NCAA's transfer portal, according to freelance sports writer Mike Barber.
Impact Tony Bennett surprisingly retiring as Virginia's head coach gives UVA players an opportunity to enter the transfer portal if they please. And while none of them have thus far, Barber mentioned that Harris entered the portal on Oct. 1. The junior not being part of UVA's 2024-25 roster confirms Barber's statement.
OCTOBER 23, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Warming up vs. Virginia Tech Harris (ankle) was observed warming up for Wednesday's game against Virginia Tech, Justin Ferber of CavsCorner.com reports.
Impact Harris has missed multiple matchups as he continued to work his way back form an ankle injury. The junior guard was close to returning last week against Wake Forest but was held out for further recovery, setting the expectation he could step into the court for the first time in over a month. More news will surface closer to game-time.
JANUARY 17, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Misses game Harris missed Saturday's 66-47 loss to Wake Forest.
Impact Harris missed his 10th straight game even after optimism for Saturday. The junior guard averages 3.5 points on 19.5 minutes per game this season and will look to make his return Wednesday against Virginia Tech.

Moving around a little better Harris (ankle) seems to be "moving around a little better" despite his injury, per Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
Impact Barber's latest news is the first that publicizes information concerning Harris possibly improving from his ankle injury. He has more than half a week before Virginia and Wake Forest are expected to play each other Saturday.
JANUARY 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Remains out Saturday Harris (ankle) did not play in Saturday's game versus Notre Dame.
Impact Harris continues to recover from an ankle injury and hasn't played in over a month. It's unclear when the junior will be cleared to make his return to action, but he should see double-digit minutes off the bench when he's back at full capacity.
DECEMBER 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out vs. Morgan State Harris (ankle) will not play in Wednesday's matchup against Morgan State, Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.
Impact Harris has missed multiple games as he continues to work his back from an ankle sprain and is in line to miss his sixth consecutive game. His next chance to step into the court will be in Saturday's game against Notre Dame.
DECEMBER 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with significant ankle sprain Harris is dealing with a reasonably severe ankle sprain, Michael Curran of 247Sports reports.
Impact Harris missed his second consecutive game Saturday because of the ankle sprain, and given the comments from Bennett, it sounds like the junior guard will likely miss additional action moving forward. The Georgetown has logged 19.5 minutes per game off the bench for the Cavs so far this year, but the staff will need to turn elsewhere for backcourt depth while Harris is out.
DECEMBER 2, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to bench Harris will come off the bench in Monday's game against Wisconsin.
Impact Harris logged six points, four boards, two assists, and a steal in 27 minutes last week when he got the start in place of Isaac McKneely. With McKneely back from the ankle injury, Harris should resume his usual role trying to provide a spark off the bench.
NOVEMBER 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting in place of McNeeley Harris will notch his first start of the season in place of Isaac McNeeley as Virginia does battle with Texas Southern.
Impact Harris, a transfer from Georgetown, has played in all three games for the Cavaliers but hadn't yet logged a start. He's averaged 21.3 minutes as a key rotation player, however, putting up 5.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He'll fill in for McNeeley on Thursday night.
