Enters portal Harris (ankle) has decided to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Harris was going back-and-forth on returning to Memphis for the upcoming season but appears he will be looking for a better opportunity at another school. The 6-foot guard was limited to just 16 appearances due to injury and averaged 2.4 points and 1.6 rebounds on 11.6 minutes.

Returning to Memphis Harris has decided to return to Memphis for the 2025-26 campaign, Parth Upadhyaya of DailyMemphian.com reports.

Out for first round Harris (ankle) is out for Memphis' first-round game Friday against Colorado State, according to Parth Upadhyaya of The Daily Memphian.
Impact Harris' high ankle sprain continues to be a problem, so much so that it will force him to log his fifth consecutive DNP in what could very well be his last game as a collegiate athlete should Memphis lose against Colorado State. Memphis' team is also without Tyrese Hunter (foot), meaning the Tigers will have to rely on Baraka Okojie starting at point guard, with some of their wing players occasionally playing out of position.
MARCH 21 • ROTOWIRE
Game-time decision Friday Harris (ankle) is a game-time decision for Memphis' game Friday against Colorado State, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact It is gameday for Memphis, and Harris' matchup availability will be pushed to the limit. Tyrese Hunter (foot) is out Friday, so the Tigers could really use Harris to ensure both experience and depth at their point guard position. When both Harris and Hunter sat out the 2025 AAC Championship Game, Baraka Okojie served as Memphis' primary point.

Questionable Friday Harris (ankle) has started running in practice and is questionable for Friday's NCAA Tournament first-round matchup against Colorado State, per Jason Munz of the Commercial Appeal.
Impact Harris will be looking to make his return to aciton after missing each of the team's last four games with an ankle injury. The news that he's been running is certainly a step in the right direction, but head coach Penny Hardaway made it clear Harris remains questionable agaisnt the Rams.

Solid recovery pace Harris (ankle) is ahead of Tyrese Hunter (foot) in terms of injury recovery, according to Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal.
Impact Currently, Memphis' team has two rotation players on the shelf, both point guards in Harris and Hunter. If the team's head coach Penny Hardaway is to be believed, Harris is ahead of Hunter in terms of progress. This means there is a better chance Harris returns for Memphis' first-round game of the 2025 NCAA Tournament, though both are neither ruled available nor out yet. There is also a chance Harris is available while Hunter is not, meaning the Tigers likely lean on the former at least a little more at point guard going into a matchup with Colorado State.

PJ Haggerty, Dain Dainja and No. 16 Memphis win AAC tourney with a 84-72 win over UAB

PJ Haggerty scored 23 points, Dain Dainja had 22 points with 12 rebounds and 16th-ranked Memphis won the American Athletic Conference Tournament with an 84-72 win over UAB

Out for AAC Championship Harris (ankle) will not appear in Sunday's AAC Championship game, Jonah Dylan of the Commercial Appeal reports.
Impact Harris will remain sidelined as the Tigers face off against the winner of today's matchup between UNT and UAB in the AAC Title game. The 6-foot senior has been inactive since March 4, as a result of the injury. Harris, who is averaging 2.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals on 11.6 minutes per game, will look to rest up ahead of next week's NCAA Tournament.
MARCH 15 • ROTOWIRE
Doubtful for AAC Tournament Harris (ankle) is doubtful for the 2025 American Athletic Conference Tournament, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact Memphis will log between one and three games during the 2025 American Athletic Conference Tournament. The first (and possibly only) of Memphis' three games is scheduled for Friday against either South Florida or Wichita State. Rothstein's statement indicates Harris must depend on Memphis' team to keep his collegiate career alive, though him out the coming weekday is not yet assured.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
Likely out extended time Harris (ankle) is likely to miss some extended time, Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Impact Memphis' head coach Penny Hardaway said that he didn't have an update on the guard's status, but offered that "Right now, we don't know how long he's going to be out. It doesn't seem like it's going to be a day or two." Harris only played one minute against UTSA in the Tigers' last game.
MARCH 5 • ROTOWIRE
Won't return Tuesday Harris won't return to Tuesday's game against Texas-San Antonio due to ankle and foot injuries, Jason Munz of The Memphis News reports.
Impact Harris won't return to Tuesday's game, and his status for the season finale against South Florida is uncertain. He's averaging just 12.3 minutes per game this season, so he's not going to have a lot of fantasy upside.
MARCH 4 • ROTOWIRE
Back to bench Thursday Harris is not starting Thursday's game at USF, the team announced.
Impact Harris made his first start of the season in Sunday's win over Temple and played well, but he will return to the bench for Thursday's contest with Tyrese Hunter back healthy. Harris has not seen huge minutes when Hunter is available, so he is unlikely to see a ton of playing time.
FEBRUARY 13 • ROTOWIRE
Starting for Hunter Harris will get the start for Tyrese Hunter on Sunday, Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Impact Harris will get his first start of the season in place of Hunter. It's unclear why the latter is out against Temple, but he's likely dealing with some sort of ailment as he's the heart and soul of the Tigers. Harris, meanwhile, averages 2.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 11.3 minutes this season.
FEBRUARY 9 • ROTOWIRE
Logs six minutes Harris (Coach's decision) missed his only shot attempt while tallying two assists, a rebound and a steal in six minutes during Thursday's win over Tulane.
Impact Harris returned after a one-game absence but saw under 10 minutes for the fourth time in seven appearances this season. The Virginia transfer has not quite been able to grasp a consistent role with the Tigers this year.
JANUARY 31 • ROTOWIRE
Sits out via coach's decision Harris (coach's decision) didn't play in Memphis' tilt with UAB on Sunday, Parth Upadhyaya of DailyMemphian.com reports.
Impact It's unclear why exactly Tigers' head coach Penny Hardaway elected to hold Harris out of the game, but his absence has now been confirmed to be a coach's decision and not anything injury related. It's unclear at the moment when the senior, who averages 1.7 points and 1.3 rebounds, will return.
JANUARY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Available against East Carolina Harris (foot) is available for Memphis' game Saturday against East Carolina, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact Fortunately for Harris, he will not have to sit out multiple games because of the ankle injury that caused his DNP during Memphis' matchup Sunday against North Texas. For the 2024-25 Tigers, he has logged one point, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 15 minutes. However, it is worth noting Harris only recently made his Memphis debut and is expected to be a regular part of the Tigers' rotation.
JANUARY 11 • ROTOWIRE
Practices Wednesday Harris (ankle) was able to return to practice Wednesday, Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Impact Head coach Penny Hardaway is hopeful that Harris, who sat out against UNT on Sunday with a foot injury, will be able to return to action against ECU on Saturday. The 6-foot senior transfer from Virginia has seen the court in two games this season, averaging 7.5 minutes per outing.
JANUARY 8 • ROTOWIRE
Suffers foot injury Harris (foot) did not play in Sunday's 68-64 win over North Texas due to a foot injury, per Parth Upadhyaya of DailyMemphian.com.
Impact Harris was held out of Sunday's contest following his first two games of the season against Ole Miss and Florida Atlantic. The senior guard joined the Tigers during the season after transferring from Virginia following the retirement of head coach Tony Bennett. The details and severity of Harris' foot injury are thus far unknown, but he can be looked at as questionable for Saturday's contest against East Carolina.
JANUARY 5 • ROTOWIRE
Makes debut with Tigers Harris (transfer portal) signed with Memphis and had one point (0-1 FG, 1-2 FT) and one rebound in seven minutes during Saturday's win against Mississippi.
Impact The senior guard entered the transfer portal in October after the surprise retirement of former Virginia coach Tony Bennett, and he's immediately eligible to play for his new team. Harris played in 24 games for the Cavaliers last season and averaged 2.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 13.8 minutes.
