Does not play against Oral Roberts Hobbs (undisclosed) missed his third straight game on Wednesday against Oral Roberts.

Impact The Owls are off for a week, so maybe by the time they return against Texas State Hobbs will be back on the court. The Mount St. Mary's transfer had provided 7.7 points and 2.0 steals in 21.5 minutes for the Owls in the first six games.

Impact Hobbs has been a key producer for the Owls this season, having played 16 or more minutes in all six appearances (one start). However, the junior guard wasn't able to take the floor Monday. With Rice playing in the inaugural Coconut Hoops, Hobbs won't have much time to rest. His next chance to play will come Tuesday against Florida Gulf Coast. The team was able to snap a two-game losing streak and Hobbs broke out of a slump that saw him hit just two of his previous 17 field goal attempts. The Mount St. Mary's transfer might stick in the starting lineup because of his experience and playmaking ability.

Impact Hobbs will make the move to Rice University ahead of the 2025-26 season after spending the last two seasons with Mount Saint Mary's. The 6-foot-1 sophomore appeared in 30 games this past season with the Mountaineers (26 starts), averaging 12.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 0.9 steals on 28 minutes per game. Hobbs, who shot 31.2 percent from three on 5.8 attempts per game last season, will look to carve out a role with the Owls this offseason.
