Columbia beats Villanova 90-80

Led by Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa's 22 points, the Columbia Lions defeated the Villanova Wildcats 90-80
NOVEMBER 7, 2024 Associated Press
Eric Dixon - Huge 33-point outing in loss Dixon closed with 33 points (11-16 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, two assists and three steals across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 90-80 loss to Columbia.
Impact Dixon wasn't able to lead the Wildcats to a win against the underdog Columbia squad, but he still put together a very solid performance in the end. The senior forward had to serve a one-game suspension which kept him out of Villanova's season-opener win over Lafayette, but he didn't seem to miss a beat in his return to the court for game two of the season. He amassed more than 30 points just twice in the 2023-24 season, meaning he could already be on pace for a big campaign as the year unfolds.

Matthew Hodge - Remains ineligible Hodge (eligibility issue) remains out for Villanova's second game, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Somewhat unsurprisingly, the NCAA hasn't resolved Hodge's eligibility issue two games into the season. This figures to drag on well into the 2024-2025 campaign.
