Impact Hepburn was seen earlier in the week wearing a walking boot, but that didn't appear to be an issue as he practiced and played Thursday. The freshman guard has started in all 14 games for Wisconsin this season, averaging 7.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals on 29.4 minutes per game.

Appears likely starting PG Hepburn is practicing with the first unit as the starting point guard Thursday, Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact A true freshman, Hepburn has apparently compiled an impressive camp and will take over as the starting point guard for a Badgers team that experiences turnover at numerous starting lineup spots for 2021-22. Given the youth in Wisconsin's starting lineup, there may be some growing pains on tap for the Badgers this season, and the team's slow pace will also work against Hepburn's fantasy line. Still, it appears he should see a sizable workload out of the gate and will presumably be on the ball early and often.

Impact Both Hepburn and fellow prospective ball handler Lorne Bowman (lower body) sat out with injuries, but the report suggests that each of them are minor. That left the red team short of facilitators, with Brad Davison and Johnny Davis picking up the mantle for the white squad. The next opportunity the Badgers have to suit up at full strength will be an exhibition matchup against UW-Whitewater on Oct. 29.
