Cleared for start of season Lawson (eligibility) has been cleared to take the floor in Tuesday's season opener versus Tennessee Tech, Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

Impact Lawson didn't play in the exhibition against Lane College last week due to eligibility concerns leading up to the season, but it appears the junior has cleared those concerns up and will take part in the opener. The Memphis native returns home after averaging 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds over 18.0 minutes per game at Oregon last season.

Impact Lawson is an Oregon transfer that should make an impact as a rotation player, but it seems there are some eligibility issues that still need sorting out. Given the depth of the Memphis roster and the intense competition for minutes, it wouldn't be wise to put much fantasy stock in Lawson until the situation clears itself out. It's unclear at this point if he'll be available for the Nov. 9 opener against Tennessee Tech.

Dealing with eligibility concerns Lawson sat out Sunday's exhibition game against LeMoyne-Owen due to eligibility concerns, Jason Munz of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

Impact Lawson spent his first two collegiate seasons at Oregon but committed to transfer to Memphis in April. However, coach Penny Hardaway said Sunday that the team isn't yet sure whether the forward will be available to begin the regular season. The junior averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per game with the Ducks.
