Contributes 21 points, 3 steals
Carter ended with 21 points (6-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 6-8 FT), five rebounds, three assists and three steals over 34 minutes during Saturday's 65-58 win over Iowa State.
Impact
Carter's 21 points came on the heels of a three-point outing on Tuesday against Kansas and were the most he's scored since posting 23 points in the team's second conference game on Jan. 9. Carter also contributed five boards, three assists and three thefts during Saturday's huge victory. Kansas State is a long shot at best to make it back to the NCAA tournament, where they made an Elite Eight run last season, but if they are to go on a run in the Big 12 tournament next week, Carter will be relied upon to play a major role.

Leads team with 23 points
Carter produced 23 points (6-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 10-10 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals across 37 minutes during Tuesday's 81-67 win over West Virginia.
Impact
Carter paced the Wildcats in scoring while providing his usual useful production on both ends of the court. It was another 20-point outing for Carter who has now contributed four such efforts this season. Carter has been great all year for the Wildcats, leading the team in scoring and steals while standing second in rebounds and assists. Through 15 games he's averaging 16.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.9 blocks in 36.1 minutes per contest.

Leads team in scoring
Carter accumulated 21 points (7-18 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 39 minutes during Saturday's 75-60 victory over LSU.
Impact
Carter led off the game with a three and remained hot throughout the first half, scoring 19 of his team-high 21 points in the first 20 minutes. The drop in production in the second half could be a product of his workload as the 39-minutes played actually represents a dip in playing time from the previous three games which each went to overtime. Carter has averaged 41.3 minutes per game over the last four with 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals.

Minimal impact in season-ender
Carter closed with five points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes during Saturday's 79-76 loss to Florida Atlantic.
Impact
Carter continued his largely limited role for the Wildcats despite starting his 36th game in a row Saturday night. Over the team's four games in the NCAA Tournament, the 6-foot-3 sophomore averaged 7.3 points and 3.3 rebounds while playing 27.3 minutes per game. Carter averaged 6.2 field-goal attempts per game over the course of the season, though he could be in line for additional opportunities next season given that Kansas State's leading scorers Keyontae Johnson and Markquis Nowell are both expected to move onto the pro level.

Continues limited role Saturday
Carter accumulated five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and one rebound in 22 minutes during Saturday's 69-66 loss to Texas.
Impact
Carter matched his season low for field-goal attempts while also tying his season high for turnovers with four. The starting shooting guard also played fewer minutes than point guard Markquis Nowell (38) and sixth man Desi Sills (34), as these two have largely paced the team's backcourt in this category all season. Expect Carter to continue serving a relatively minor role game to game behind Nowell and Sills.

Plays third fiddle in backcourt
Carter registered five points (1-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 26 minutes during Tuesday's 83-82 OT victory over Kansas.
Impact
Carter once again played the third-most minutes in Kansas State's backcourt behind star point guard Markquis Nowell (42) and sixth man Desi Sills (34). While the 6-foot-3 sophomore has started all 18 games for the Wildcats this season, he still ranks third among this trio in almost every statistic other than rebounds per game (3.3). Carter has also converted just 35.5 percent of his 6.7 field-goal attempts per game this season, so his fantasy value should be considered marginal so long as he plays in this backcourt configuration.

Solid performance in easy win
Carter chipped in 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three assists and one steal over 26 minutes during Sunday's 98-50 win over UIW.
Impact
Carter notched his second-highest scoring performance of the season, as seven Kansas State players put up at least 10 points against Incarnate Word. The Mississippi State transfer also converted just 38.9 percent of his six field-goal attempts per game coming into Sunday, so it's not worth putting much stock in any results from this blowout win. The Wildcats will next play Saturday, Dec. 17 at home versus Nebraska.

ROTOWIRE
Puts in four three-pointers
Carter logged 16 points (5-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and three rebounds over 35 minutes during Thursday's 69-53 victory over Kansas City.
Impact
Carter logged a season high in points and a career high three-point attempts in this comfortable win for the Wildcats. After averaging 8.2 minutes over his 27 games (with four starts) for Mississippi State last year, the sophomore guard has put up 8.7 points while converting 38.5 percent of his shots from beyond the arc over three starts Kansas State. Carter should continue to get plenty of three-point looks while playing in Kansas State's new-look starting five this season.

Getting more playing time starting Friday
Coach Ben Howland said that Carter will be the first guard off the bench in Friday's game against Furman and going forward, Andy Kostka of The Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports.
Impact
Carter started the season with two nice showings, but then saw his playing time drop drastically. It looks like Carter will get his shot again moving forward, as one of the top options off the Mississippi State bench.
