Impact Slater was automatic on offense, his 23 points were good enough for a career-high. The senior put on a catch-and-shoot clinic in the first half draining all four of his three-point attempts off of assists. In the second half, he fought for loose balls and helped generate seven Howard turnovers. Slater has made improvements to every aspect of his game since last season where he averaged 3.8 points per game. He averages a head-turning 16.7 points this season, and the breakout forward will look to stay hungry against Tenessee on Saturday.

Impact Slater is reportedly bigger and stronger heading into the 2021-22 season and is shooting the ball with confidence. That could bode well for the senior, who averaged 4.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals over 21.5 minutes in the final 10 games of last season. He could be headed for a bigger campaign this year, though we won't know for sure until we see how the rotation shakes out.

Impact Slater had one of his better performances in the loss Saturday. The guard has been unsuccessful throughout a majority of the season with a few performances here or there. However, he showed signs of life, eclipsing double-digit points for only the third time this season and was solid on the board. Monitor for injuries to the starting rotation that could potentially create a much higher upside for Slater.
