Impact Rapp has been hit-or-miss as a reserve forward option for the Badgers this season, as his final output often depends on whether or not his first three-point basket falls. He found his shooting stroke in the first half Saturday and didn't look back, scoring his most points in a game since a Nov. 27 loss to Providence. On the year, Rapp has found the Big Ten scheduling far tougher than the WCC slate he saw last season that ended up with him winning conference Freshman of the Year honors. His scoring, rebounding and three-point percentage are all down, but was we saw here, the 6-10 sophomore can still emerge as an X-factor for the Badgers on occasion.

The 6-foot-10 sophomore, who is averaging 9.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.8 blocks on 23.4 minutes per game, will have his status monitored heading into Tuesday's game against the Golden Gophers.

Impact Rapp was Wisconsin's leading scorer off the bench, and considering he shot just 30 percent from the field and was 1-of-6 from downtown, it's easier to fathom how the Badgers lost by 30. Nebraska's defense swarmed Wisconsin all night, and Rapp was no exception. In the last three games he's come off the bench, Rapp averages 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Impact Wisconsin has always been ahead of its time in terms of recruiting big men who can shoot the three-pointer, and Rapp appears to be an extension of that tradition. The 6-10 power forward and reigning WCC Freshman of the Year appears to have immediately gained a starting role with the Badgers, in addition to serving as an instant offensive contributor. He was second on the team in minutes played in this exhibition and third in overall scoring, plus was the only starter to cash multiple three-pointers. With the Badger offense seemingly picking up its tempo -- if 2024-25 is any indicator of a trend -- Wisconsin could be home to multiple valuable nationwide assets in the upcoming campaign, with Rapp being one.
