Three treys in loss Newell amassed 16 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds and three steals over 34 minutes during Saturday's 76-75 loss to Mississippi State.

Impact Newell did about all that could've been asked of him, scoring 16 points on eight shots and hitting 75 percent of his three-point attempts. He was pesky on defense as well with three steals. This was a tough loss for the Bulldogs against a similarly positioned conference foe, and Newell will look to help Georgia bounce back in another daunting matchup against Texas A&M on Feb. 11.

Impact Newell was efficient from the line, did his part on the glass and hit 8-of-9 free throws before he fouled out in the heartbreaking loss to Arkansas. Someone had to hand the Razorbacks their first SEC win, but this one will hurt for Georgia. Still, it was another great showing from the freshman, who's immediately become a staple of the front court in Athens.

Impact It's a modest stat line on the surface, but the fact that Newell is able to produce like this game in and game out is what makes the freshman an attractive asset for fantasy managers. He was also the leading scorer for the Bulldogs here in a signature victory against a top-10 Kentucky squad, though the offensive attack was largely balanced. It doesn't appear as if a drop-off is in store for the potential NBA lottery pick.

Impact Newell continues to be a huge factor for the Bulldogs as a freshman, and he did it on another highly efficient night. The forward is hitting 63.6 percent of his shots from the floor over the past five games; he's been taking smarter and smarter shots and becoming a more disciplined scorer.
