B.J. Edwards - Posts impressive triple-double Edwards supplied 24 points (9-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, 13 assists and 10 steals in 34 minutes during Friday's 100-69 victory over Arkansas State.

Impact Edwards posted an unconventional triple-double in this game, as he did it with points, assists and steals. This was the best way to show how impactful Edwards can be on both ends of the court, and his role as SMU's top two-way threat is not in question. Edwards has scored at least 20 points in three of his six games this season, averaging 15.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 3.0 steals.

Sam Walters - Out Friday, likely longer Walters (ankle) won't play on Friday against Arkansas State and will likely also be unavailable Monday against Radford, per Billy Embody of On3.com.

Impact Walters hurt his ankle against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and only played two minutes in that game on Nov. 18. Now, the issue appears to be one that's going to hold him out of multiple games. The forward started the first two games of the year for the Mustangs, but has since been relegated to a bench role. Not counting the game in which he got injured, Walters averages 1.8 points and 1.8 rebounds this season.

Jaden Toombs - Nearing return Toombs (wrist) is getting closer to returning for SMU, per Billy Embody of On3.com.

Impact Toombs, who has yet to play this season, is getting closer to seeing action in 2025-2026. He remains a question mark for Friday against Arkansas State, the freshman big man should see the court sooner rather than later in Dallas.
