Impact Awaka has been used as a reserve in 2025-26 after starting 36 games for the Wildcats a season ago, but he's settled into the role well. Through six games, he's still seeing the exact same playing time (19.5 mpg) as last season, but his scoring has improved to 9.3 ppg, and his rebounding (10.7 rpg) has shot up as well. Arizona is fortunate enough to have an incredibly deep frontcourt, so Awaka can be aggressive in the minutes he does get without worrying about foul trouble. So far, that has paid off with some of the best per-minute marks in the country.
