After opening the season with four double-doubles in his first six games, the 7-2 junior has just one double-double since. Maybe Sunday's performance will get him on the right track.

Coach Aaron Fearne may have used starting as a motivational tool and it seemed to work as the 7-2 center forced his way to the free throw repeatedly. He had just his second double-digit scoring game in the last eight games. Bonke and the 49ers host Wichita State on Saturday.

Impact The 7-2 center had combined for just 14 rebounds in his three previous games. He had double-digit rebounds in four of his first six games, but had been held off the glass prior to Sunday. Bonke had seen his playing time cut and did not play more than 20 minutes in those three games. As long as he gets consistent playing time, the junior could be among the best centers in the American Conference.
