Iowa Loses Alvaro Folgueiras: Here's How the Hawkeyes Could Benefit The Hawkeyes officially lost a key piece on Tuesday when Alvaro Folgueiras committed to Louisville. But here's how it may be a win-win.

Heading to ACC Folgueiras has committed to Louisville, according to Dushawn London of 247Sports.com.

Impact Folgueiras was limited to a bench role at Iowa in the 2025-26 season, averaging 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game while starting in just one of his 37 appearances. He should add depth to Louisville's frontcourt, but it wouldn't be surprising if he has a bench role again.

Folgueiras will look to bounce back in another tough matchup at Purdue on Jan. 14.
