Near double-double Tuesday Cardenas ended with 18 points (8-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt), nine rebounds, six assists and one steal across 40 minutes during Wednesday's 72-62 loss to Colorado State.

Impact Cardenas did all he could to keep San Jose State in Tuesday's game, but the team ultimately fell short. The 6-foot-1 junior led the Spartans with 18 points while shooting a relatively efficient percentage from the field and from behind the arc (57.1 and 50, respectively). Despite San Jose State's poor Mountain West Conference record (2-17), the Spain native remained one of the most consistent players in the conference. Across 31 outings, Cardenas averaged 13.2 points, 5.5 assists (which ranks 30th in the country) and 3.3 rebounds per game.
