Toklomati scores 2nd of 2 goals in stoppage time, Charlotte beats Dallas 3-2
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Idan Toklomati scored the second of his two goals in the second minute of stoppage time to help Charlotte FC beat FC Dallas 3-2 on a rain-soaked Saturday night.
Petar Musa scored for FC Dallas in the 64th minute, his franchise-record 19th goal in the regular season.
Dallas (13-7-8) had its six-game unbeaten streak snapped.
Kristijan Kahlina had four saves for Charlotte (13-8-7), which lost 1-0 to Chicago last time out on Sept. 26 to snap an 8-game unbeaten streak.
Toklomati scored in the 70 and fed Harry Toffolo for a goal in the 74th for Charlotte to make it 2-2.
Logan Farrington put away a sliding volley, off a cross played in from the right side by Herman Johansson, from the edge of the 6-yard box that slipped inside the back post to give Dallas a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute.
Farrington, a 24-year-old forward in his fourth MLS season, has a career-high 10 goals and five assists this season.
Musa tapped in from point-blank range to make it 2-0 to break the record he tied last season. Jason Kreis set the previous mark of 18 in his MVP season of 1999, which was later matched by Kenny Cooper (2008), Jesus Ferreira (’22) and Musa.
Daniel De Sousa Britto — known simply as “Daniel” — had four saves for Dallas.
