Robinson scores 13, Delaware State slips past Coppin State 55-53

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Martez Robinson had 13 points in Delaware State's 55-53 victory over Coppin State on Saturday night.

Robinson added six rebounds and five steals for the Hornets (8-9, 1-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Deywilk Tavarez added nine points while shooting 1 for 9 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 6 of 8 from the free throw line, and they also had three steals. Tavarez made two free throws with 1:10 remaining to give the Hornets the lead for good. Raymond Somerville had eight points and finished 4 of 7 from the floor.

The Eagles (1-14, 0-1) were led by Preist Ryan, who posted 11 points. Greg Spurlock added 10 points and two steals for Coppin State. Ryan Archey also had eight points. The loss was the Eagles' seventh straight.
