Panzo scores 23 to lead Iona over Fairfield 78-67

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Wheza Panzo's 23 points helped Iona defeat Fairfield 78-67 on Friday night.

Panzo was 8 of 15 shooting (7 for 13 from 3-point range) for the Gaels (3-5). Idan Tretout scored 12 points while shooting 5 for 8, including 2 for 3 from beyond the arc, and added six rebounds and seven assists. Jean Aranguren was 3 of 3 shooting and 2 of 3 from the free throw line to finish with nine points, while adding three steals.

The Stags (1-6) were led by Caleb Fields, who recorded 21 points. Jasper Floyd added 17 points and two steals for Fairfield. In addition, Jalen Leach had 12 points and two steals.
