Massie scores 31, Longwood beats Winthrop 84-74

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) — Johnathan Massie put up 31 points as Longwood beat Winthrop 84-74 on Saturday night.

Massie was 8 of 9 shooting, including 3 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 12 for 13 from the line for the Lancers (15-11, 3-8 Big South Conference). Michael Christmas scored 25 points and added nine rebounds. Elijah Tucker had six points and finished 2 of 7 from the floor.

The Eagles (15-11, 6-5) were led in scoring by Kasen Harrison, who finished with 20 points and four assists. Kelton Talford added 18 points for Winthrop. KJ Doucet also had 15 points and seven rebounds.

Longwood plays Feb. 17 against Presbyterian on the road, and Winthrop visits Radford on Thursday.
