Madlock scores 23, Alabama State knocks off Grambling 87-84 in OT
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — TJ Madlock had 23 points in Alabama State's 87-84 double-overtime victory against Grambling on Saturday night.
Madlock's made two free throws for an 85-84 lead with 1:38 left in the second overtime and he added two more with 14 seconds remaining.
Madlock also added eight rebounds for the Hornets (13-18, 8-10 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Isaiah Range scored 21 points while going 8 of 18 (5 for 15 from 3-point range). Darrell Reed shot 5 of 9 from the field and 1 of 3 from the free-throw line to finish with 11 points.
Jourdan Smith finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks for the Tigers (17-14, 14-4). Grambling also got 14 points and two steals from Tra'Michael Moton. Mikale Stevenson also recorded 12 points. The loss broke the Tigers' six-game winning streak.
