Eugene's 22 points lead Troy past Louisiana, 79-73

TROY, Ala. (AP) — Christyon Eugene had 22 points in Troy's 79-73 victory over Louisiana on Wednesday night.

Eugene added seven rebounds and three steals for the Trojans (10-6, 4-0 Sun Belt Conference). Tayton Conerway added 13 points while going 5 of 9 and 3 of 5 from the free throw line, and they also had five assists. Aamer Muhammad had 10 points and shot 2 of 5 from the field and 6 for 7 from the line.

Kobe Julien led the way for the Ragin' Cajuns (8-8, 1-3) with 20 points. Louisiana also got 13 points, nine rebounds and three steals from Hosana Kitenge. In addition, Themus Fulks had 13 points and four assists.

Both teams next play Saturday. Troy hosts Southern Miss and Louisiana goes on the road to play Arkansas State.
