Ellis scores 16 as Maryland-Eastern Shore defeats Division-III Cairn 83-65

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Devon Ellis' 16 points helped Maryland-Eastern Shore defeat Division-III Cairn 83-65 on Saturday.

Ellis had eight rebounds for the Hawks (1-1). Chace Davis scored 12 points while going 4 of 11 (3 for 7 from 3-point range), and added three steals. Troy Hupstead finished 4 of 7 from the field to finish with 10 points.

Derian Bradford finished with 19 points and seven rebounds for the Highlanders. Aytor Alberto added 19 points and two steals for Cairn. Owen Bradford also had nine points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Maryland-Eastern Shore plays Wednesday against Longwood at home.
