2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year odds: Paige Bueckers opens as big favorite

Efficient despite loss Saturday Citron recorded 15 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 22 minutes in Saturday's preseason overtime loss to the Fever.

Impact Citron was selected by the Mystics with the third overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft and should be a regular starter right away for Washington. This preseason showing did nothing but justify the idea of her having a big role on offense right out of the gate in her rookie year.

Selected by Washington at No. 3 The Mystics selected Citron with the No. 3 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.

Impact Citron is fresh off another impressive season at Notre Dame, averaging 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.9 steals in 32 appearances. She'll enter a promising situation in Washington, as the club doesn't currently possess much WNBA experience outside of Brittney Sykes in the backcourt. Citron certainly has the skillset to succeed in the early stages of her professional basketball career, shooting 48.4 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from deep during her senior season with the Fighting Irish.
