Impact Puoch appeared to tweak something in her right leg at the end of the third quarter, which required a quick trip to the locker room, but she returned to the bench for the final frame. Impact Puoch responded nicely Thursday after being held to five total points in her first two appearances of the 2026 season. She shot the ball with efficiency and led the Fire in scoring, joining Bridget Carleton and Emily Engstler in double figures. Puoch has drawn plenty of opportunities since inking a rookie deal with Portland in April, and while she's gotten off to a bit of a slow start to her WNBA career, Thursday's showing is a clear step in the right direction.

Impact Puoch showed encouraging range by knocking down a pair of three-pointers, an important development for a forward trying to earn regular minutes on an expansion roster. The Australian was selected by Portland in the 2026 Expansion Draft, but she's yet to make her WNBA debut after opting to remain overseas despite being drafted by Atlanta in 2024. She'll compete with Luisa Geiselsoder, Chloe Bibby and others for frontcourt minutes in Portland, and if her perimeter shooting translates to the regular season, Puoch could work her way into the Fire's rotation as a stretch-four option.

Impact The Fire will be shorthanded in their preseason opener, opening the door for Puoch to enter the starting five. She'll be joined by Carla Leite, Sarah Ashlee Barker, Emily Engstler and Luisa Geiselsoder in the first unit.
