Returning to Fever McDonald will sign a rest-of-season contract with the Fever on Wednesday, Chloe Peterson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Impact McDonald spent time with the Fever on a hardship deal in early June, but she was let go once Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham returned to action. However, she'll rejoin the organization on a rest-of-season contract after DeWanna Bonner was waived Wednesday. Over three appearances off the bench with Indiana this year, McDonald has averaged 11.0 points, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 25.3 minutes per game.
JUNE 25 • ROTOWIRE
Waived by Indiana The Fever have officially waived McDonald.
Impact In order to meet the 10-player roster minimum and WNBA emergency hardship exception requirements, Indiana has released McDonald with Sophi Cunningham (ankle) and Caitlin Clark (quadriceps) expected to return Saturday. McDonald played well in her short time with the Fever, averaging 11.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 42.9 percent from the floor and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Expected to be released The Fever are expected to release McDonald, Chloe Peterson of the Indianapolis Star reports.
Impact With Caitlin Clark (quadriceps) and Sophie Cunningham (ankle) expected to return to the floor Saturday against the Liberty, McDonald will likely be released. The 27-year-old guard has played three games for Indiana and averaged 11.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game, shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from deep.

Sharp off bench in road loss McDonald contributed 14 points (3-6 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-8 FT), one rebound and two assists over 24 minutes during Tuesday's 77-58 loss to the Dream.
Impact McDonald has turned up the production lately, going for back-to-back games with double-digit point totals. Since returning to the team last week she is averaging 11.0 points, 3.0 assist and 2.0 steals per game, while hitting 2.0 three-pointers per game in three June appearances.
JUNE 11 • ROTOWIRE
Paces second unit in win McDonald chipped in 12 points (4-8 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four steals, two assists and one rebound over 25 minutes during Saturday's 79-52 win over the Sky.
Impact The 26-year-old guard led Indiana's bench in scoring during her second regular-season game, picking up the slack with Caitlin Clark (quadriceps) and Sophie Cunningham (ankle) sidelined. Additionally, McDonald racked up a game-high four steals and has tallied seven swipes this season.

Accumulates season high in minutes McDonald totaled seven points (2-7 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), one rebound, five assists and three steals in 27 minutes during Tuesday's 85-76 victory over Washington.
Impact McDonald was brought back to the team on a short-term deal after the club experienced a rash of injuries. She logged a season-high 27 minutes in the win, although she was a bit rusty from the field. That's to be expected, though, after not having played a game in nearly a full month.

Joins Indiana on hardship deal McDonald signed Monday with the Fever via an emergency hardship exception.
Impact The Fever are able to bring McDonald aboard on a short-term deal after a recent spate of injuries left the team with fewer than 10 game-eligible players available. McDonald spent the 2024 season with the Sparks, starting in 10 of her 26 appearances while averaging 2.0 points and 3.7 assists in 21.8 minutes per contest. The 26-year-old is likely to fill a depth role out of the Fever backcourt.
JUNE 2 • ROTOWIRE
Cut loose by Sparks The Sparks waived McDonald on Wednesday, Khristina Williams of MSG Network reports.
Impact McDonald is a surprise victim of Los Angeles' roster trimdown, being waived after appearing in 26 games for the Sparks last season. She averaged 8.7 points, 3.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds across 21.8 minutes per game. Considering she has averaged over 20 minutes per game in the last three WNBA seasons, McDonald should command plenty of interest on the open market.
MAY 15 • ROTOWIRE
Won't start vs. Golden State McDonald won't start in Tuesday's preseason game against the Valkyries.
Impact Rae Burrell will receive the starting nod alongside Kelsey Plum in the club's preseason opener. Burrell and McDonald will likely compete for the final starting spot in the club's backcourt ahead of the regular season. The 26-year-old guard averaged 8.7 points, 3.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 21.8 minutes across 26 regular-season appearances (10 starts) during the 2024 campaign.
MAY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Remaining in Los Angeles The Sparks announced Tuesday that they re-signed McDonald.
Impact McDonald averaged 8.7 points, 3.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 21.8 minutes across 26 regular-season appearances, including 10 starts, last season for the Sparks before suffering an ankle injury. McDonald is now set to share Los Angeles' backcourt with newcomer Kelsey Plum in 2025.
