Impact This was an encouraging performance from Spivac on multiple fronts. For starters, he beat Delija in a fight in which he landed just one takedown. He didn't even attempt to seriously wrestle until Round 3. Spivac continued to push forward throughout, working behind his jab and limiting Ante's offensive opportunities. He did get pinned along the fence in Round 2 which led to him eating some massive shots, but Serghei recovered, which we haven't always seen in the past from him. It was a nice effort from the 31-year-old Moldovan. Spivac snaps a brief two-fight losing streak with the win.

Fight moved to February Spivac will face Ante Delija at UFC Houston on February 21, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact The fight was previously scheduled for UFC 325 on January 31, but will now take place in late February in Houston. The 30-year-old Moldovan fighter will look to bounce back from a stretch of back-to-back losses in 2025 when he takes on the older Croatian.

Scheduled for UFC 323 Spivac (undisclosed) will take on Ante Delija in a heavyweight matchup at UFC 325 on Jan. 31, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Spivac was supposed to face Shamil Gaziev at UFC Qatar back in November, but he was forced to withdraw due to undisclosed reasons. He won't stay on the shelf for long, however, and instead draw Delija, who is 1-1 in two UFC fights. It's a reasonable opponent for Spivac, who will likely look to lean on his wrestling to bounce back from his current two-fight losing streak. Both men measure up identically in terms of height and reach.

Out of Gaziev fight Spivac has withdrawn from his scheduled fight against Shamil Gaziev at UFC Qatar on Saturday, MMAJunkie.com reports.

Impact It's unknown why Spivac pulled out of the event, but he will now have to wait a bit longer to capture his first win since August 2024. Waldo Cortes-Acosta will take his place against Gaziev.

Facing Gaziev at UFC Qatar Spivac is scheduled to face Shamil Gaziev at UFC Qatar on Nov. 22, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact This matchup will end up taking place a bit later than anticipated, as Spivac was expected to face off against Gaziev in May before Gaziev went down with an undisclosed injury and the bout was called off. Spivac has had a tough time of late, suffering two consecutive losses, with his last dating back to June 7 when he lost by unanimous decision against Waldo Cortes-Acosta.

Gets no help from judges in defeat Spivac lost to Waldo Cortes-Acosta via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 316 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.

Impact It's a crushing loss for Spivac in a fight he very well may have deserved to win. The 30-27 scorecard in Cortes-Acosta's favor is particularly laughable. Serghei was the clear better man in Round 1 before his output and effectiveness dipped in Round 2. With the fight seemingly hanging in the balance in Round 3, Spivac landed the bigger shots and one huge takedown. Of course, none of this mattered because none of the three judges awarded him the first frame. Spivac has now lost three of four dating back to September 2023.

New opponent scheduled Spivac is scheduled against fellow heavyweight Waldo Cortes-Acosta at UFC 316 on June 7 in Newark, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Spivac was scheduled to fight Shamil Gaziev at UFC Qatar on May 17. Gaziev withdrew, leading to Spivac's next fight being scheduled for the UFC's Newark pay-per-view instead. Spivac is 2-2 across his last four games and will look to get back on track in June.
