Undergoing eye surgery Namajunas is undergoing eye surgery, according to Nolan King of MMA Junkie.

Impact Namajunas' surgery comes less than a week after UFC 324, when she fought and lost to undefeated contender Natalia Silva via unanimous decision. It is unclear when the former will fight again, though eye surgery clearly sets her return date back. Namajunas was only one fight short of challenging Valentina Shevchenko for the UFC Women's Flyweight Championship and is 3-2 across her last five fights after a disappointing debut in the weight class.

Gets no help from judges in defeat Namajunas lost to Natalia Silva via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 324 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact There's absolutely a case to be bad that Namajunas won this fight and the fact not one judge scored it for her is, quite frankly, shocking. She clearly won Round 2 and clearly lost Round 3. Round 1 could have gone either way because neither woman did much of anything. On the whole, it was a very competent performance from Rose as a +265 underdog, although one could certainly argue the reason it was close to begin with was because of how passive Silva was. Once she turned it on in Round 3, Namajunas was toast. Rose will be 34 years of age in late June and has alternated losses and wins in her past four fights dating back to July 2014.

Gets new opponent Namajunas will now face Natalia Silva in a flyweight bout at UFC 324 on Jan. 24, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Namajunas was initially slated to face Alexa Grasso, but the latter has pulled out of the fight for currently undisclosed reasons. The promotion has found a quick replacement, however, and Namajunas will now have her hands full with Natalia Silva, who is a perfect 7-0 in the UFC.

Draws Grasso at UFC 324 Namajunas will fight Alexa Grasso at UFC 324 on Jan. 24, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Namajunas bounced back from a loss to Erin Blanchfield by defeating Miranda Maverick in June, giving her three wins over her last four fights. She'll hold a significant momentum advantage in January over Grasso, who will enter the fight with a 0-2-1 record across her previous three bouts.

Wins co-main event in Atlanta Namajunas defeated Miranda Maverick via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlanta.

Impact Outside of a couple hairy moments late in Round 2 in which Maverick scored a reversal and clamped on a deep choke, Namajunas looked pretty good. Both women landed 25 significant strikes, but a knockdown from Rose early in Round 3 was really the only notable blow. Namajunas was also able to get her wrestling game going, landing 2-of-4 takedowns, good for 6:33 worth of control time. Rose's grappling has long been underrated, and while she still lacks difference-making power, her technical striking has most definitely improved over the years. Namajunas has shown more good than bad since moving up to flyweight in September 2023, going 3-2. The main issue at this point is that she's had problems getting past opponents ranked above her (Erin Blanchfield, Manon Fiorot).
