Impact Valentin is coming off his first UFC win, and it was a dominating performance against Julien Leblanc, who he bested with a Rear Naked Choke in the first round of a fight back in April. That brought his UFC record to 1-3, and now he'll look to stack wins against a more experienced fighter in Todorovic.

Impact Valentin wasted no time getting down to business, blasting the debutante with leg kicks before taking the fight to the floor. It was academic from there, with the Swiss fighter methodically adjusting his squeeze to find the choke. Valentin doesn't have any plus-skills and gets hit too easily, but he has bought himself more time in the organization with this command performance. He improved to 11-6-0 in professional MMA due to the victory.

Impact Valentin will head into the bout looking to end a three-fight losing skid dating back to August 2024. The 30-year-old Swiss fighter measures up equally in height with the older Canadian. With an impressive 6-1 professional record in submissions finishes, Valentin will likely look to use the ground game in this one, though he will have to remain wary of Leblanc's prowess as well (4-0 professional record in submission finishes.)

Impact Valentin won't get the chance to earn his first UFC victory quite yet; he's 0-3 in the promotion and won't get change that against McVey. It's unclear why he was forced to pull out of the fight, but Valentin already has a new opponent in Zachary Reese.

Impact The UFC served Valentin up to be Gautier's latest victim and he played the role to protection. The former was never able to get out of the blocks in what was one of the worst performances you'll ever see. The lone positive from Valentin's perspective is the fact he ate at least a dozen shots that would have dropped any mere mortal. Eventually, as in 70 seconds in, Valentin crumbled for good. The 30-year-old is now 0-3 with the UFC, with a pair of knockout defeats and a split decision setback on his resume. It would be shocking to see the company award him another opportunity.

Gautier fight re-scheduled Valentin (undisclosed) is scheduled to compete against fellow middleweight Ateba Gautier at UFC 318 in New Orleans on July 19, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact It did not take long for the UFC to re-schedule Valentin against Gautier after their Nashville fight was scrapped, still without any public reasoning behind said action. Instead, they are expected to serve as an undercard bout for the Max Holloway-Dustin Poirier trilogy.

Valentin displayed plenty of toughness and continuously worked his way back to his feet, but it's nearly impossible to earn a three-round decision when you give up eight takedowns and 13:16 worth of control time. Valentin has lost each of his first two UFC bouts and has not been competitive in either, so it's far from a guarantee a third opportunity will be forthcoming.
