Impact What a disaster. Entering as the largest favorite on the card at upwards of -1400, Orolbai was up two rounds on all three scorecards on the strength of his wrestling. He then got clipped with a sweeping right hook early in the final frame which forced Orolbai into a reckless takedown attempt. He left his neck exposed in the process and found himself tapping out moments later. Orolbai entered the evening on a three-fight winning streak and sporting a 5-1 record with the company, so his roster spot is plenty secure, but it's going to take a while to get past this dreadful result.

Taking on Wells Orolbai will face Jeremiah Wells in a welterweight clash at UFC 330 in Philadelphia on Aug. 15, per Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports.

Impact Orolbai is off to a scorching hot start in the UFC, having won his first three bouts, two of them via first round knockouts. Most recently, he bested Chris Curtis via unanimous decision back in mid-March. He'll look for a 4-0 start against a fighter in Wells who is also coming off a win but hasn't fought since November of 2025.

Lands 19 takedowns in rout Orolbai defeated Chris Curtis via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact It will go down as one of the most lopsided three-round fights in UFC history. The UFC record for takedowns in a 15-minute bout is 21. Orolbai didn't quite get there, but he came close. He turned 19 successful tries into 12:33 worth of control time. The fact Orolbai only landed 20 significant strikes is nearly impossible to believe. Of course, when you dominate with the grappling to that extent, you are going to win a decision every single time. Orolbai is 6-1 in the UFC with the lone setback being a split decision against Mateusz Rebecki back in October 2024. Orolbai is going to continue to get notable fights moving forward.

Clashing with Curtis Orolbai is scheduled to compete against Chris Curtis in a welterweight fight at UFC Vegas 114 on March 14, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Orolbai logged a 2-0 record in 2025, with different finishes in his wins. He submitted Tofiq Musayev via a kimura lock in June and then knocked out Jack Hermansson in November.

Picks up first-round stoppage Orolbai defeated Jack Hermansson via KO (punch) at 2:46 of Round 1 at UFC Qatar on Saturday.

Impact Orolbai, who was moving up a weight class, faced a fighter in Hermansson who was moving down, but the size disadvantage didn't make the least bit of difference. Orolbai came out aggressive and paid for it with a few jabs, but he eventually found a right hand that compromised his opponent. He found another massive right hand in his barrage of follow-up shots that turned Hermansson's lights out for good. Orolbai has now won four of five UFC fights, and he may have found a new home at 170 pounds.

Hermansson fight at welterweight Orolbai is scheduled to compete against Jack Hermansson in a welterweight fight at UFC Qatar on Nov, 22, MMA Junkie reports.

Impact Orolbai will move up a weight class from lightweight to welterweight, while his opponent is moving down a weight class from middleweight. Orolbai's last fight, UFC Baku on June 21, saw him defeat Tofiq Musayev via a first-round kimura lock.

Impact Orolbai is a brawler, but he's also a plenty underrated grappler, as Musayev found out here. Knowing full well the elite, fight-ending power his opponent possessed, Orolbai simply leaned on his wrestling game, going 3-of-5 on takedowns and racking up 3:40 worth of control time. He locked on the kimura perfectly and Musayev found himself tapping out moments later. It was a strong rebound performance from Orolbai on the heels of a split decision defeat to a quality opponent in Mateusz Rebecki last October.

Musayev fight at 165 Orolbai is scheduled to compete against Tofiq Musayev in a 165-pound catchweight fight at UFC Baku on Saturday, per Nolan King of MMA Junkie.

Impact Orolbai and Musayev's upcoming fight will be at 10 pounds above the UFC's lightweight limit. The former will look to bounce back from a split-decision loss at UFC 308 in October.
