Impact Perry hadn't competed in MMA since being released by the UFC on a two-fight skid in 2021, but "Platinum" showed he can still mix the martial arts, marching Diaz down and scoring with crushing body shots. Hard elbows from the clinch and straight punches also took a toll on Nate's face, as he was already wearing a mask of blood when Perry knocked him down with a flying knee to end the second frame. It was an easy call from there, as veteran cutman Jacob "Stitch" Duran took one look at the former UFC title challenger before stopping the bout. Perry reinvented himself as a top-tier bare-knuckle boxer after his release, but it looks as though he wants to continue in MMA, as he called out everyone from Jake Paul to Conor McGregor in his post-fight interview, even seeming to agree to run it back when Nate suggested a rematch. Wherever he ends up next, it's a safe bet that Perry will bring aggression and excitement. He improved to 15-8-0 in professional MMA due to the victory.
