Routed in return from long layoff Baghdasaryan lost to Murtazali Magomedov via submission (twister) at 1:17 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact Fighting for the first time since a knockout loss to Jean Silva back in February 2025, Baghdasaryan lasted all of 77 seconds in his return to the octagon. A striker by trade, Melsik gave up his back during an exchange along the fence and the debuting Magomedov was able to put him away with a modified twister. Baghdasaryan has several things working against him. Not only is he 34 years old an 1-3 in his past four fights, but all three of his UFC victories -- Tucker Lutz, Bruno Souza, Collin Anglin -- have come against guys no longer with the company. It's not a guarantee Baghdasaryan gets another fight with the promotion.

Next fight scheduled Baghdasaryan will face Murtazali Magomedov in a featherweight fight at UFC Vegas 119 on June 20, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Baghdasaryan was previously scheduled to fight Joanderson Brito at UFC Vegas 112 but withdrew prior to the bout. The Gun's last fight in Feb. 2025 resulted in a loss against Jean Silva via TKO. He will now look to get back on the win column against Magomedov.

Out of Brito fight Baghdasaryan has withdrawn from his scheduled fight against Joanderson Brito at UFC Vegas 112 on Saturday, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact It's unclear what caused Baghdasaryan to pull out of the fight at the last moment, but he will now have to wait a bit longer for his next chance at his first win since July 2023. Isaac Thomson will fill in on short notice to face Brito instead.

Impact Baghdasaryan has fought just once in the past 24 months, and his lone fight resulted in a loss to Jean Silva. Because of his inactivity, the 33-year-old featherweight could display some rust in December, though he may be able to get back in the win column while facing an opponent who has dropped each of his last two bouts.
