Finished after fast start Walker lost to Dustin Jacoby via TKO (punches) at 1:42 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact Walker isn't in position to settle for moral victories at this point of his career, but there were a couple positives this evening despite the setback. Hopelessly outclassed by Jacoby on the feet, Walker displayed high fight IQ in recognizing that and attempting to go to his wrestling game instead. The plan actually worked for a good portion of Round 1 as Julius landed 3-of-6 takedowns in winning the framing on all three scorecards. Unfortunately be absorbed a couple huge shots early in Round 2 and was never able to recover despite being given an ample amount of time by referee Chris Tognoni. Walker joined the UFC last February with just six professional fighters under his belt. He's more of an athlete than mixed martial artist at this point, as his 1-2 record with the company shows.

Gets new opponent Walker will now fight Dustin Jacoby at UFC Vegas 113 on Feb. 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact The 26-year-old light heavyweight was originally slated to fight Uran Satybaldiev in February, but the latter was forced to withdraw due to an injury. Walker will instead fight an opponent who has won back-to-back bouts but has a reach two inches shorter than Walker's.

Impact Walker picked up a win in August after dropping his UFC debut in February, and he'll now receive an opponent who has had an identical start to his own UFC career. Walker will be at a slight size disadvantage, however, giving up one inch of reach to Satybaldiev.

Uses wrestling en route to decision Walker defeated Rafael Cerqueira via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26) at UFC Vegas 109 on Saturday.

Impact It's easy to see why the scorecards ended the way they did, as Walker recorded at least one takedown in all three frames, as well as winning the striking numbers in each. He also was credited with 11:46 worth of control time in a 15-minute fight. Despite the dominant numbers, Cerqueira did have Walker wobbled and in serious trouble late in the fight. He managed to keep his wits about him before getting a gift from Cerqueira in the form of a guillotine choke attempt that ended with Walker in top position, where he rode out the rest of the fight. This was a much-needed win for Walker after he dropped a split decision to Alonzo Menifield in his UFC debut in February. There's room for immediate advancement at light heavyweight, especially when you possess the diverse skill set Walker does.

Gets second UFC fight Walker will fight Raffael Cerqueira at UFC Vegas 109 on Aug. 9, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact The American light heavyweight will get his second UFC match after losing to Alonzo Menifield via split decision in his big debut. Walker will take on another fighter who has yet to get his first win in the big leagues in Cerqueira, which raises the stakes even higher for the summer meeting in the octagon.
