Pulls off huge upset in Philly opener Wells defeated Myktybek Orolbai via technical submission (ninja choke) at 1:24 of Round 3 at UFC 330 on Saturday in Philadelphia.

Impact The lone Philadelphia native on the card, Wells found himself in a near-impossible situation, entering as the biggest underdog on the card at +800. He looked the part for the first two rounds, spending well north of 6:00 on his back, but Wells was able to crack Orolbai early in Round 3. That led to a reckless takedown attempts and Jeremiah took full advantage, clamping on the the ninja choke for the win. Set to turn 40 years old in late October, Wells gave an odd post-fight interview after his victory, taking his gloves off and essentially saying he's planning on retiring unless the UFC gives him a top-15 opponent. We'll see if the company gives in to his demands.

Booked vs. Orolbai Wells will take on Myktybek Orolbai in a welterweight clash at UFC 330 in Philadelphia on Aug. 15, per Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports.

Impact Orolbai is off to a scorching hot start in the UFC, having won his first three bouts, two of them via first round knockouts. Most recently, he bested Chris Curtis via unanimous decision back in mid-March. He'll look for a 4-0 start against a fighter in Wells who is also coming off a win but hasn't fought since November of 2025.

Dalby drops out of fight Wells will no longer fight Nicolas Dalby (undisclosed) at UFC Vegas 117 on May 16 due to a Dalby injury, Nolan King of USA Today reports.

Impact Wells may no longer fight at UFC Vegas 117 due to an injury to Dalby. It's currently unclear if he will be given a new competitor on less than 10 days notice. Wells is looking to follow up his win over Themba Gorimbo in November.

Impact Perhaps 2026 will be Wells' bounce-back year. During both 2024 and 2025, he logged an 0-1 record, his latest fight a decision loss to Themba Gorimbo at an earlier Vegas card.

Digs deep for decision win Wells defeated Themba Gorimbo via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact Wells entered having lost back-to-back fights. He turned 39 years of age two days ago. He was clearly staring down the barrel of a release after dropping Round 1 to Gorimbo before turning things around. Wells landed one takedown in each of the final two frames, racking up 5:08 worth of control time in the process. He was a bit more active late in the fight in terms of generating offense from top position, in addition to making sure Themba remained plastered to the mat. In the end, it all resulted in a 29-28 victory in the eyes of all three judges. It's important to remember Wells won each of his first four UFC fights prior to this recent two-fight setback.

Facing Gorimbo in Vegas Wells will take on Themba Gorimbo in a welterweight bout at UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Nov. 1, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Wells could use a win -- he's dropped his last two fights at the hands of Carlston Harris and Max Griffin, respectively. That dropped his UFC record to 4-2 after a perfect start in the promotion. His next opponent, Gorimbo, is also coming off a loss and looking to right the ship while sitting at 4-2 in the UFC.

Out for UFC Vegas 107 Wells (undisclosed) will not fight Andreas Gustafsson at UFC Vegas 107 on Saturday, according to the UFC.

Impact One of the UFC's X accounts announced Gustafsson's upcoming fight, but its other fighter will be Trevin Giles instead of Wells. It is unclear what caused Wells' bout withdrawal, as is his timetable.

He'll look to right the ship against Gustafsson, a Contender Series product who will be making his official UFC debut. Wells will give up four inches in height, but the two have similar reach numbers. Expect Wells to use his wrestling to close the distance and make this one ugly.
