Released by UFC Mullarkey has been released by UFC, according to Adam Martin of Heavy on Sports.

Impact Mullarkey, along with Vine Morales, Daniel Marcos, Lando Vannata and Ketlen Vieira, was cut by the UFC. The 31-year old fighter lost three of his last four bouts dating back to December 2023.

Predictably routed in Sydney Mullarkey lost to Quillan Salkilld via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:02 of Round 1 at UFC 325 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.

Impact Mullarkey got to open the main card of a numbered event, but he was doing so as a +650 underdog, so this was very much the expected outcome. Jamie has some of the worst durability in the lightweight division, but it was his ground game that got exposed by Salkilld. He was tripped to the mat and eventually tapped out to what appeared more of a vicious neck crank than rear-naked choke. Mullarkey has been a member of the UFC roster since October 2019 despite the fact he's just 6-7 with the company. He's lost three of four dating back to December 2023. Time is running out.

Filling in at UFC 325 Mullarkey will take on Quillan Salkilld in a lightweight matchup at UFC 325 on Jan. 31, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Mullarkey will fill in for Rong Zhu (undisclosed) less than a month out from the lightweight matchup. Mullarkey, who has gone 3-3 in his last six UFC matches and has much more experience, will face a recently hot Salkilld with a three-fight win streak.

Picks up win on home soil Mullarkey defeated Rolando Bedoya via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Perth, Australia.

Impact Entering having lost two straight and three of four, Mullarkey had to have a win against an opponent that was 0-3 with the UFC. He got it, but it didn't come easy. Mullarkey predictably attempted to lean on his wrestling, which was the smart play against a pure striker in Bedoya. While it was ugly, three of 17 takedown attempts found the mark and that ended up being enough. Mullarkey is 31 years old, possesses terrible durability, and doesn't have a stoppage win in almost exactly four years, so the future doesn't exactly appear bright despite this victory on home soil. Still, this will help ensure his roster spot is secure for at least one more fight.

Bedoya up next Mullarkey is scheduled to compete against Rolando Bedoya in a lightweight fight at UFC Perth on Sept. 27, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Mullarkey will try to bounce back after a disastrous last two fights, both of them first-round TKO losses. He lost to Nasrat Haqparast in December 2023 and Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 301 in May 2024.
