Finally earns first UFC win Erslan defeated Tuco Tokkos via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact Erslan entered having lost each of his first three UFC fights and was undoubtedly fighting for his job. He got the job done as a -170 favorite and actually looked fairly strong in doing so. At the heart of Ivan's attack was a pair of takedowns and 8:31 worth of control time. He kept a strong activity level throughout, even if the majority of the blows weren't overly damaging. It was just a competent, all-around effort against a lower-level opponent. The win ensure we will see Erslan back in the octagon at some point.

Impact Erslan has one more opportunity to log a UFC win, which he has failed to record across three consecutive fights. The former's latest loss saw him submit to Jimmy Crute via rear-naked choke.

Impact Erslan is known as a power puncher with zero grappling game. The fact he was submitted by Crute isn't a surprise. How it happened, was. Ivan found himself in borderline mount and looked prime to unload on Jimmy, at which point Crute reversed the position to a mount of his own and immediately earned the submission win. It's a mistake you just can't make at this level, especially when you are fighting to avoid an 0-3 record with the company. Erslan will be 34 years of age in mid-November and the odds would appear to be strongly against the UFC running him back out there. There simply isn't any upside to the decision.

Still searching for first UFC win Erslan lost to Navajo Stirling via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-29) at UFC 315 on Saturday in Montreal.

Impact It got really bad late for him late, but for the most part, Erslan put forth a reasonable enough performance as a +285 underdog. He absorbed very little notable damage in the first two rounds, although the tide began to turn when Stirling picked up a pair of takedowns in the second frame. Of course, none of this ended up mattering after Stirling landed a late knockdown and nearly earned the stoppage in the closing seconds. Not only has Erslan lost each of his first two UFC bouts, but he was just 2-2 in his last four fights prior to his company arrival. There's nothing to be excited about here.
