Out of Leblanc fight
Urbina is out of his previously scheduled bout against Julien Leblanc at UFC Edmonton on October 17, per Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports.
Impact
Urbina was previously scheduled to take on Leblanc in Edmonton but has been dropped from the card for unspecified reasons. He will be replaced by Nicholas Galanti.

Books next fight for October
Urbina will take on Julien Leblanc at UFC Edmonton on Oct. 17, Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports reports.
Impact
Urbina will look to build off his upset win over Vlasto Cepo back in August as he takes on a newer UFC fighter. The RGV Bad Boy is likely to be the favorite in the fall match since Leblanc lost his debut and has much more to prove.

Pulls upset in enemy territory
Urbina defeated Vlasto Cepo via TKO (strikes) at 1:01 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Belgrade, Serbia.
Impact
It's Urbina's first knockout win since May 2023 and just the third of his professional career. Having been finished in each of his last two fights and entering as a +270 underdog, Urbina was likely looking at a release if he came up short in this one. Instead, he dropped Cepo with a counter jab before referee Marc Goddard was forced to step in moments later. Nothing in Urbina's past suggests this result is a sign of things to come, although it does mean we will almost certainly see the Texan in the octagon at least one more time.

Booked vs. debutant
Urbina will take on Vlasto Cepo in a middleweight bout at UFC Belgrade on Aug. 1, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
Impact
Urbina is coming off two straight losses. He last fell at the hands of Uros Medic in the first round of a fight back in August of 2025, and that dropped his UFC record to 1-3. He hasn't made it past the first round of a fight since his last win, a victory over Orion Cosce back in 2023.

Finished brutally in Vegas
Urbina lost to Uros Medic via KO (punch) at 1:03 of Round 1 at UFC Vegas 109 on Saturday.
Impact
Urbina is probably kicking himself here. He was credited with a knockdown early in the fight with a right hand that sent Medic to the canvas, but he failed to jump on his opponent, instead taking a patient approach. That allowed Medic to get back to his feet, and Medic -- a (-400) betting favorite -- was quickly finding a fight-ending combo. After eating a knee, Urbina fell right into a nasty left hand that had him out cold, but Medic still worked in a hammerfist for good measure. The loss marks Urbina's second consecutive defeat and third in four UFC fights. The company could decide to move on, but either way, Urbina likely needs some time off after this one.

Scheduled against Medic
Urbina will face Uros Medic in a welterweight bout at UFC Vegas 109 on August 9, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
Impact
Urbina was scrapped from UFC Denver in 2024, and hasn't fought since February of that year against Charles Radtke, whom he lost to in the first round. Urbina has lost three of his last four fights, three of which came in the UFC. He'll look to reverse that trend against Medic, a slightly more experienced UFC combatant who is also looking to bounce back following a defeat.
