Impact This was tough to watch. Meerschaert entered as a +390 underdog, so this was very much the expected outcome, but the complete lack of competitiveness is highly concerning. Gerald ate a couple huge blows right that forced him to the mat right after the opening bell rang and Daukaus expertly locked in the choke from there. Set to turn 38 years old in about a month, Meerschaert has lost four straight over the past year. Gerald has been with the UFC since December 2016, but there's really no reason for the company to run him back out there.
