Impact The UFC gave Ribovics a layup as a -700 favorite against the since-retired Barboza and he took full advantage. Consistency has been an issue for Ribovics, but he has more natural talent than his 5-3 career mark with the company would lead you to believe. Impact This bout will be the latest chapter of a multi-sport Argentina vs Brazil rivalry, and this time, it'll happen inside the octagon. Just like Barboza, Ribovics will try to bounce back after looking outmatched in his previous fight, when he lost to Mateusz Gamrot via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 4:19 of Round 2 at UFC 327 on April 11. The Argentinian has gone 2-2 over his last four bouts and has alternated wins and losses over that stretch.

No-shows UFC 327 defeated Ribovics lost to Mateusz Gamrot via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 4:19 of Round 2 at UFC 327 on Saturday in Miami.

Impact Outside of an immediate stoppage loss, it's difficult to envision a scenario in which Ribovics could have looked any worse. In a fight which lasted nine-plus minutes, he was credited with four significant strikes landed. The reason for that low number was the fact he was completed obliterated by the grappling game of Gamrot. It was a mortal lock he was going to be spending some time on the mat, but Ribovics' inability to work his way back to his feet was his ultimate undoing. The Argentinian has alternated wins and losses in his last four fights and needs a rebound performance his next time out.

Facing Gamrot next Ribovics will fight Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 327 on April 11, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Ribovics bounced back from a loss against Nasrat Haqparast by defeating Elves Brener in August, giving Ribovics four wins in his last five fights. He'll look to keep rolling against Gamrot, who enters the fight with far more experience but has dropped two of his last three bouts.

Impact On paper, this was a razor-thin fight, with both men landing exactly 123 total strikes and Ribovics having the slight edge in those deemed "significant." In practice, it was Ribovics who landed the harder shots in Rounds 1 and 3, with Brener starting to fade a bit late, due at least in part to Ribovics' work to the body. Ribovics also showcased impressive takedown defense, stuffing all nine of Brener's attempts. In the end, Ribovics picks up his third consecutive Fight of the Night bonus, with both men taking home an extra $50,000. He also bounces back from a March loss to Nasrat Haqparast and has won four of last five fights overall.
