Impact Cabral looked like the better fighter for large stretches of this contest, countering Da Lapa with hard overhand rights that had him on shaky legs in Rounds 1 and 2. The pace and combination punching eventually proved too much for "The Young Lion," as Da Lapa ended round two with an extended sequence that looked to have him out on his feet when the buzzer sounded. This made Round 3 a formality, as Cabral dropped with the first hard shot, ending the fight. Da Lapa's length, aggression, and body work make him formidable offensively, but he swings very wide in the pocket, which leaves him open to being hit. While not a perfect fighter, Da Lapa is talented enough to be a threat at middleweight.
