Fighting Xiaonan Gomes will face off against Yan Xiaonan at UFC Shanghai on Aug. 29, Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports reports.

Impact Gomes will match up against Yan Xiaonan this August following a 10-month hiatus from the octagon. The 26-year-old Brazilian fighter, who is 6-2 during her time with the UFC, will be up against an 11-year experience gap in an unfavorable crowd later this summer.

Runs winning streak to four Gomes defeated Tecia Pennington via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact Pennington can be a tricky opponent because she's very light on her feet and has a ton of experience, but Gomes passed the test without issue. She consistently limited the space between the two women which allowed her to unload the far more damaging blows. The constant pressure also allowed Gomes to land three successful takedowns. Still just 25 years of age and the winner of four straight, the Brazilian is a fighter to keep an eye on moving forward at 115 pounds.

Fighting Pennington in Vegas Gomes will take on Tecia Pennington at a UFC event in Las Vegas on November 11, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Gomes will head into the bout riding a three-fight win streak in UFC play dating back to June of 2024. The 5-foot-2 Brazilian will look to use advantages in both height and reach to take out the more experienced American. With a 7-1 professional record in KO/TKO finishes combined with Pennington's proclivity for decision finishes (20 of 22 professional finishes), Gomes will undoubtedly be looking to use her striking to end this one early.

Gomes dominated Reed in all aspects of the fight, landing three takedowns in the brief bout in addition to finishing with a 69-35 edge in total strikes landed.
