Snaps three-fight losing streak Brundage defeated Andre Petroski via TKO (punches) at 0:44 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas

Impact Brundage catches a lot of flack and some of it is clearly deserved, but he most certainly deserves plenty of credit here. Cody looked like an obvious release candidate given the fact he'd entered having lost three straight and had just one win in his past seven fights (1-4-1, 1NC). But the company stuck with him and on his 32nd birthday, he responded by putting away Petroski with a huge left hook. As the old saying goes, "the best ability is availability" and Brundage, for better or worse, never turns down a fight. We'll see him again in the not-too-distant future.

One more fight scheduled Brundage is scheduled to compete against Andre Petroski in a middleweight fight at UFC Vegas 117 on May 16, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Brundage will look to snap his losing streak against Petroski, who is 0-2 across his last two fights. Both middleweights will look to protect their UFC futures in a battle between two struggling fighters. Brundage is coming off a close loss to Donte Johnson at UFC 326.

Nearly pulls off huge upset Brundage lost to Donte Johnson via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC 326 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact Brundage last fought five weeks ago. He accepted this one on short notice and entered as a +600 underdog, the largest on the card by a mile. When you take all that into consideration, a split decision loss certainly isn't the worst outcome in the world, but this was a winnable fight for Cody. Despite pleas from his corner to up his output and go for it, Brundage simply refuses to do so. He won Round 1 on the strength of his grappling and considering how bad Johnson looked, a similar outcome was well within reach the rest of the way. Brundage's entire UFC run has been characterized by him doing the bare minimum and this was the latest example of that. Maybe the company will keep him around considering this was a close result, but with three straight losses on his resume, a release is probably a more likely outcome.

Gets short-notice bout Brundage will step in to face Donte Johnson in a middleweight matchup at UFC 326 on March 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Brundage could very well be fighting for his roster spot after dropping his last two fights, and he finds himself in a rough spot fighting on just two weeks' notice. He draws an opponent in Johnson who won his November UFC debut over Sedriques Dumas in emphatic fashion. It's a small sample size, but Johnson has superior stats in both striking and wrestling. On paper, Brundage is four inches taller but will give up two inches in reach.

Struggles continue in Sydney Brundage lost to Cam Rowston via TKO (punches) at 4:08 of Round 2 at UFC 325 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.

Impact We have a gigantic sample size that tells us Brundage's striking isn't the strength of his game. He actually did better on the feet in the early going of this one than most would have predicted, but it ended up not being enough. Cody attempted just one takedown, which failed. Rowston eventually picked up the pace in Round 2, and as we have seen countless times in the past, Brundage wilted. Dating back to December 22, Cody is 3-6 (1NC) in his past 10 fights. The fight he is still a member of the UFC roster is one of the world's great mysteries. This may have been the performance that broke the camel's back.

Set to fight Rowston Brundage will fight Cam Rowston at UFC 325 on Jan. 31, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Brundage dropped back under .500 in his UFC career with a loss to Eric McConico back in August. Sporting just one win since the beginning of 2024, Brundage will now be tasked with overcoming three-inch height and reach disadvantages to turn things around in January.

Impact Brundage has the right to be upset with the decision here, as he led the striking battle in the first two rounds, in addition to executing a takedown in each of those frames that led to lopsided control time numbers. However, McConico had the bigger moment in Round 1 with what looked like a knockdown (assisted by a balance issue), and he finished with the stronger striking numbers in Round 3, while Brundage faded a bit. Brundage now has just one win in his last five trips to the Octagon dating back to April of 2024. He'll likely continue to serve as roster depth in the middleweight division moving forward, hovering right around .500.

Set to fight McConico Brundage will fight Eric McConico at UFC Vegas 109 on August 9, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Brundage has booked his next fight and it comes less than two months after his last fight and with less than a week to go. He will take on McConico who had an uninspiring UFC debut with a Round 2 loss to Nursulton Ruziboev. The two fighters are the same height but McConico owns a three-inch reach advantage.

Loss overturned Brundage's loss against Mansur Abdul-Malik has been overturned to a draw, per MMAFighting.com.

Impact Brundage will no longer have a loss on his record after the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission ultimately voted to overturn the result from a technical decision to a majority draw. The fight ended early in the third round after an accidental clash of heads led to Abdul-Malik being initially declared the winner, and despite replays showing the head butt, which caused Brundage's fall, the referee opted against a no-contest and sent it to the scorecards, where Abdul-Malik won by technical decision.

To Cody's credit, he did enough in Round 2 to get even on a pair of scorecards despite entering as a +600 underdog, largest on the entire card. Round 3 started with a wild back-and-forth exchange, at which point Brundage crumbled to the mat before getting finished. It was deemed an accidental clash of heads led to the stoppage, so the round was scored up until that point, with Abdul-Malik winning on all three scorecards. Three of Cody's last six fights have ended in controversial fashion. He's 3-2 (1NC) during that stretch.
